Cryotherapy is a technique where the body is exposed to extremely cold temperatures for several minutes to create a thermal shock that generates vasoconstriction and stimulation of receptors thermal dermis on the targeted partial area and whole body.

This thermal shock has mainly an analgesic effect by slowing down nerve conduction and anti-inflammatory through lowering of the tissue temperature. By reducing body temperature in a very short time, endorphin and hormonal reactions are provoked but also a very important muscle drain when the body heats up. The entire body, from the feet to the neck is exposed to extremely cold temperatures to -150 °C for a duration of 1 to 3 minutes.
